07/04/2005: "I Drank the Kool-Aid"
A couple of weeks ago, I drank the Kool-Aid and ended up taking one of these home:

I'm very pleased with this purchase... the 12" PowerBook G4 is a pretty freakin' sweet piece of hardware, and OSX (Tiger) has quickly grown on me. It's very light, extremely portable, very useful, and the battery life is a-freakin'-strounding.
Sweet hardware aside, I still despise technologically illiterate Macintosh advocates. The promotion of ignorance is ignorance. Saying something akin to "I don't know anything about computers, so I bought a Mac, it's so user-friendly" is akin to saying "I don't know anything about driving so I bought a Hummer. I'm totally safe in it" (because you're a danger to everyone else).
And, yeah, I still really dislike Steve Jobs... he doesn't shit gold. He's a genius as getting "Think Different" followers to buy overpriced stuff.
